Your information, and what we do with it.
Last updated: October 18, 2026
The short version
- We collect what you choose to put into Her Visit, plus the basics needed to run your account.
- We never sell your information, and we never use your health information for advertising.
- You can edit or delete your information at any time, including deleting your whole account.
Information you give us
Account details. Your name, email address, and password when you create an account.
Health information you enter. Anything you record in the app, such as symptoms, medical and family history, medications, lab results, appointments, provider details, journal entries, and questions for your care team.
Documents you upload. Files you choose to attach, such as lab reports, imaging results, referral letters, and photos.
Messages you send us. If you contact us, we keep your message and your contact details so we can reply.
Information we collect automatically
Like most apps, we collect limited technical information when you use Her Visit: your device and browser type, approximate location derived from your IP address, the pages you visit, and error information that helps us fix problems. We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences.
Payment information
Payments are processed by Stripe. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and a reference to your customer record, but we never see or store your full card number. Stripe's own privacy policy governs the card details you give them.
How we use your information
- To create your account and keep you signed in.
- To store and display the information you enter, so it is there when you need it.
- To build the summaries, exports, and printable pages you ask for.
- To send you reminders and notifications you have turned on.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
- To respond to your questions and provide support.
- To meet our legal and accounting obligations.
We do not use your health information to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
When we share information
We share information only in these situations:
- Service providers. Companies that help us run Her Visit, such as our hosting, payment, and email delivery providers. They may only use your information to provide their service to us.
- Legal requirements. If we are required by law, subpoena, or court order, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect someone's safety or our legal rights.
- A change of ownership. If Her Visit is ever sold or merged, your information may transfer as part of that deal. We would notify you before your information became subject to a different privacy policy.
- When you ask us to. If you choose to print or share a summary with a provider, that is your decision and your action.
Her Visit is not a HIPAA-covered entity
Her Visit is a personal record-keeping tool. We are not a doctor's office, hospital, insurer, or health plan, and we are not acting as your health care provider. This means the information you enter here is not protected by HIPAA in the way it would be inside a clinic's medical record system. We protect it carefully regardless, as described in this policy, and we treat it as the sensitive information it is.
How we protect your information
Your information is encrypted in transit, documents you upload are stored privately, and access is limited to what is needed to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and keep it to yourself.
Your choices and rights
- See and edit. Everything you enter is visible to you in the app, and you can correct it at any time.
- Delete. You can delete individual entries, or delete your entire account and its data from within the app.
- Export. You can generate printable summaries of your information.
- Notifications. You control which reminders and emails you receive.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional legal rights over your personal information, including the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of it, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. You can make a request through our Contact page, and we will honor it as required by applicable law.
How long we keep information
We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account, we remove your records from our active systems promptly, and they age out of our backups within a limited period. We may retain a small amount of information longer where the law requires it, such as payment records for tax purposes.
Children
Her Visit is intended for adults. It is not designed for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, tell you in the app. Continuing to use Her Visit after a change means you accept the updated policy.
